Practice-Based Learning and Improvement (PBLI) Exercises

6 Question Exercises

PBLI #1    PBLI #2    PBLI #3    PBLI #4    PBLI #5

These are exercises in which you identify an area of needed improvement.  Usually this will be identified during your care of a specific patient, in which a specific therapy was not known in detail.  You and your residency will receive an email summary of your responses.  These exercises will help to address the Practice-Based Learning and Improvement Core Competency, as defined by the ACGME.  It is at the discretion of each residency how and if these exercises are used.  The benefit of using this module is that completion of the PBLI exercises is tracked under test results (within "For Residencies" or "For Residents."

This is an exercise in which you will be asked to answer six questions:

  1. Patient identifier, if applicable

  2. Date seen, if applicable

  3. Specific question or problem identified

  4. Resources used to answer

  5. Results of learning activity (knowledge gained)

  6. How this new knowledge will improve your patient care

You and your residency will receive an email summary of your responses.  These exercises will help to address the Practice-Based Learning and Improvement Core Competency, as defined by the ACGME.  It is at the discretion of each residency how and if these exercises are used, as well as how many.  The last two questions should be answered with several paragraphs of answers, as specific as possible.

To answer the questions, position your pointer in the empty text box at the bottom left of the question page.  Type in your answer.
